For Terminator Fanatics?

In the Terminator (specifically the 1st) towards the end, arnold shoots up the police station. While sarah and reese make their getaway the backround music is some sort of synthesizer sound i guess. Please for the love of god, someone shed some light on that ness...? Love that sound and would like to know more. Is it a synth, who wrote it, what equip was making it, etc...
