I need to make a quilt but I don't have a sewing machine... alternatives?

The quilt is for my boyfriends mother, she has 6 kids and 4 grand kids so I wanted to make her a quilt with different photos on it of all of her kids and grand kids. I have no sewing machine and they are very expensive, especially this time of year when I have no money.. please give me some other creative ideas on how to put this together. Thanks!
