What do you need to major/minor in Atmospheric Science and Astronomy?

Both astronomy and atmospheric sciences are usually part of the physics department, as they both require quite a bit of physics. You'd major in physics and take a few courses in either subject. There's not much you can do in astronomy without a PhD, and you'd usually get one in physics or astrophysics - even an astronomy PhD requires graduate level physics courses.
