Help Building A Gaming PC?
What the other posters above me have written is sound advice. Let me stress here Mike is DO NOT get a Pentium 4 if you want your rig to be "future ready." Even the 3.0 GHz Pentium 4 is almost always on the minimum system requirements for today's PC game releases. That means most games require a much more powerful CPU than the Pentium 4. If want an Intel processor on your gaming rig I recommend the Core 2 Duo family. Top notch games that released this Fall/Winter are recommending a Core2Duo 2.4 GHz or higher processor if you want to see prettier graphics without slowdowns. I personally have the C2D 2.53 GHz (E7200) overclocked to 3.16 GHz. If your into overclocking that processor is a really stable at overclock and is very easy to do.
